AIR & MISSILE DEFENCE INDIA 2022
Air Defence operations have evolved substantially in the last few decades and have become critical for, not only success in wars, but also in force preservation and survival against a large number of rapidly evolving platforms like drones, combat drones, rockets, missiles, aircrafts, hypersonic vehicles, etc. The requirement of an effective of Air Defence system is essential both in peace, competition and conflict, along the borders as well as in the hinterland. Recent events in Nagorno-Karabakh, Israel-Gaza and various other conflicts have proved the importance of this domain. The transformation of Indian Armed Forces, which is presently underway has prioritised Air Defence as a critical area and the creation of the Integrated Air Defence Command (IADC).
Seminar and Exhibition
An International Seminar on "Air Defence India" is being organized on 15 July 2022 as a physical in-person event with the aim to obtain inputs in the journey towards for modernization of the country’s Air Defence and apprise the industry regarding the requirements and expectations. The subject has gained importance in view of the impending reorganisation and emergence of the joint Air Defence Command.

Objectives
The objectives of the seminar are as follows:
(a) Familiarise with the latest concepts of Air Defence.
(b) Explore existing technology to neutralize new aerial threats.
(c) Explore the concept of convergence of EW with Ground Based Air Defence Weapon Systems.
(d) Build understanding on the aspect of latest trends in communication technology towards achieving net centricity for Air Defence Control & Reporting System (ADC&RS).
(e) Establish clarity on concepts required towards functioning jointly under the Integrated Air Defence Command.
(f) Project requirements to the industry for the next three Five-Year Plan periods.
(g) Improve industry integration facilitating understanding of the requirement of Air Defence. Build a common platform for Services-Industry cooperation and response to the needs of Air Defence.
The Indian Armed Forces will use this occasion to carry out a comprehensive technical and commercial scan of Air Defence related technologies available, both globally and domestically in the foreseeable future.
