Usage of unmanned systems such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is also contributing to the increasing share of NVDs in the defence market. Moreover, improved efficiency and accuracy of NVDs is increasing their use across various platforms.

The global military electro-optical and infrared systems market is projected to register a CAGR of 2.51%, reaching US$9,314.13 million by 2026. By platform, the air-based segment held the largest market share (54.26%) in 2020. The sea-based segment is expected to show the highest CAGR (2.67%) during the forecast period.

NVD requirements of the Infantry (not including mechanized forces, artillery and all observation devices) are as follows:

•  Ni Sight for Carbine (II), $542 mn
•  Ni Sight for Rifle (TI), $812 mn
